The Grad Book is an annual project designed by Creative Services at AgFirst Farm Credit Bank in Columbia, SC. I was tasked with the 2018 edition, and since it’s created by a different Designer every year, there is no set format, size, or style, so I had total creative freedom. Working with a communications strategist, we narrowed down to around six different themes, then decided to go with Noteworthy. The color palette was chosen from that of air mail or royal mail and my design cues were taken from the style of vintage postcards and letters. There were 22 graduates total, all of which had unique page layouts, stamp icons that corresponded with their selected field of study, and postmarks from their hometowns.
The book itself measured 9x4in, was perfect bound, and each page was perforated so it could be torn out and displayed by the graduate. Intermixed into the book were 4 different hand lettered mailable postcards. The project also included 2 digital signs, a blog post, an online submission form, and two email announcements.
